In the wake of October 7th, this year’s LaunchPad Leadership program has been thoughtfully modified to meet the ever-changing demands on our lay, philanthropic and professional leaders. Blending Jewish values with technical skills and leadership theory with experiential learning, the program is designed to nurture relationships, cultivate resilience and foster the much-needed courage to navigate the complexities and uncertainties of this time.

LaunchPad Leadership is more than just a program. Graduates of Cohort 5 will join a national community of empowered leaders who are all committed to enriching Jewish life in Australia.

Since 2020, we have facilitated…

OUR STORY

LaunchPad Leadership, a flagship initiative of Australian Jewish Funders (AJF), stands at the forefront of leadership development for the Australian Jewish community. We are actively building a network of professional, lay, and philanthropic leaders, who can collaborate, innovate and navigate complexity.

Now more than ever, and as the network of funders inspiring effective philanthropy and strengthening community, AJF recognises the necessity of providing robust support mechanisms for our communal organisations and leaders.

LaunchPad Leadership was first conceived in 2020 as a strategic pivot in response to the global COVID-19 pandemic, crafted to address the immediate and unprecedented challenges facing our community.

We currently find ourselves in another critical moment, requiring a second pivot to align our objectives with the new realities of our time. In 2024, LaunchPad Leadership will be addressing the pressing needs facing Jewish life and leadership in Australia as a result of the tragedies of October 7th. We hope this pivot will ensure our community leaders are further resourced to continue leading effectively during these times of complexity and uncertainty.

Cohort 5 will explore themes that include:

Leadership
Resilience
Courage
Self-regulation
Community Collaboration
Jewish Wisdom
Fundraising
And so much more…

PROGRAM OUTLINE

Personal Leadership Growth

Through various introspective and reflective processes, leaders will be supported to develop self-awareness, embrace vulnerability and build empathy to become more attuned to their effectiveness.

Skill Development

As the world rapidly shifts and changes, it is increasingly important for leaders to be equipped with contemporary modalities to lead through contemporary challenges. The program will provide a series of cutting-edge skills and tools that can be applied and refined to the leaders’ unique leadership contexts.

A Leadership Cohort

Leaders need peers and confidants; people who they trust and with whom they can speak freely and authentically, as well as spaces that offer support and nurturance. This leadership journey is centred around the creation and curation of a cohort for its members to turn to and lean on.

Jewish Inspiration

We recognise the canon of Jewish text, thought and ritual as a source of inspiration for the soul and wisdom for leadership. Drawing on fundamental Jewish values and integrating Jewish sources, this unique experience will be focussed with a view to building Jewishly literate leaders in the community.

CRITERIA

We are looking for leaders of all life stages, those in a position of influence within Jewish communal life and from organisations that support them, from across the diverse Jewish landscape of Australia. Ideal candidates possess a growth mindset, are eager to engage in new learning opportunities, and include:

  • Professional Leaders: CEOs, Executive Directors and General Managers etc
  • Lay Leaders: Board and Committee Members
